Pepper - Jumbo Jalapeno

Jumbo jalapeños are a fun one to grow, especially if you want flavor without too much fire. These are a larger version of the classic jalapeño, with thick walls and a medium heat that's approachable for most people. They're perfect for poppers, salsas, pickling, or slicing fresh onto just about anything. I grew these from a Sweet Yards organic seed pack and had a great season with them. As you can see in the photo, they produce big, healthy peppers!

These seedlings are healthy and ready to go into the ground. Jalapeños love warmth, so wait until the weather is reliably warm before planting, and expect around 70 to 80 days to reach harvest size. Give them plenty of sun, decent soil, and consistent watering. A little tip from my experience: pick them green for milder, crisp peppers, or leave them on the plant to turn red for a sweeter, slightly hotter flavor. They keep producing all season, so the more you harvest, the more you get.
